Mid-Week Rumble scheduled at Thunderhill

MAYETTA, Kan. -- Due to a number of early season rain-outs, a make-up event has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 10, for the USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA Hobby Stocks and the Pony Stock classes at Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kan.

The race will count towards track points standings for all classes, and will count toward USRA national points for the sanctioned divisions. All regularly scheduled Saturday races will continue as previously planned.

The events Wednesday will follow the format of a regular race for Thunderhill Speedway with a drivers meeting at 6:30 p.m., hot laps at 7 and races at 7:30. There will be no intermission in the interest of completing the races as soon as possible.

"We have a number of drivers competing for USRA National Points," said promotor Mike Henry, "We have had two rain outs already and we want to provide enough opportunities for our drivers to race and be competitive in that respect. We have been running five and six classes and finishing by 10:30, we shouldn't have any problems running a smooth show with only four classes."

Although the Modifieds, Factory Stocks and Hobby Stocks all compete under the USRA banner, newcomers are allowed to race once at Thunderhill without purchasing the USRA license. It is required that all new drivers pay the Thunderhill Speedway registration fee. Pony Stocks do not compete under the USRA sanction and will be competing for the first time this season.

General admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, children 7-13 are $5, and ages 6 and under are admitted free with a paid adult. Pit passes are $25.
