Late Model Rules

BODY

• Commonly accepted late model body rules are in effect. Must meet all body rules of IMCA, MLRA, NASCAR or WDRL. Other body rules subject to approval of the promoter.

• 8” x 72” spoiler maximum with all engine combinations.

ENGINE

• IMCA spec motor allowed with 390 carb @ 2300# & 8” maximum setback;

• IMCA spec motor allowed with open carb @ 2350# & 8” maximum setback (IMCA spec is defined as the engine must meet all rules for IMCA, intake spacer optional);

• Steel head motor allowed with open carb @ 2350# & 8” maximum setback;

• Open motor less than 365 c.i. with 390 carb @ 2350# & 8” maximum setback;

• Open motor over 365 c.i. with 390 carb @ 2400# & 6” setback (open motor is defined as built with unrestricted compression and/or head and intake porting).

• 390 carbs must pass IMCA or NASCAR gauges to be legal.

• All motor setback is to be measured from the centerline of upper ball joints to center of #1 spark plug.

• Gasoline is the only allowable fuel and must be contained in a maximum 32-gallon fuel cell with approved metal canister and mounting framework.

• Dry sump is legal for all engine combinations.

• Any engine utilizing an aluminum block must add 50# in front of the motor plate. This weight is included in the total for the chosen engine combination and is not in addition to the weight limits listed above.

TIRES & WHEELS

• American Racer EC2; Hoosier WRS D55 or D55-2; IMCA-stamped Hoosier.

• Grooving, grinding and/or siping tires is allowed.

• Maximum 14” wide wheels.

• Beadlocks allowed on any wheel.

CHASSIS & SUSPENSION

• Must Comply to IMCA, MLRA, NASCAR or WDRL rules.
