WINSTON, Mo.—Out-Pace USRA B-Mods saw a large field of competitors dueling for the win Saturday on Timberline Trading C.A.R.B. Night at the I-35 Speedway. Heat race winner Bud Wilson took the early lead and held off the challengers for the first portion of the feature until Doug Kellerdid a slide job in turn four to take the lead. Keller went on to win the feature with points leader Steve Starmer finishing second. Wilson ended the night third with the ever-present Randy Ainsworth coming home in the fourth position. Fifth place belonged to Brett Lowry in his first visit to I-35 Speedway this season. The other heat race winner was Daniel Harris.

Holley USRA Stock Cars saw Jason Estes win his heat race and lead every lap of the feature, adding to his points lead. Estes would not be denied, holding off all challengers on his way to his eighth feature win of 2016. Second place belonged to Alvie Christofferson with hard charger Billie Hoover racing his way through the pack and finishing third. Fourth saw a battle to the checkers with Aaron Sauter fourth and Anthony Asher fifth.

USRA Modifieds witnessed Dennis Elliott win both heat race and feature, adding to his points lead. Zach Sanders and Derrick Hicks both challenged Elliott for the top spot but both developed mechanical issues taking them from contention. Elliott cruised to the win with Hall-of-Famer Richard Layne charging through the pack to claim second. Third and fourth saw the Johnson brothers do battle as Austin Johnson claimed third, holding Houston Johnson to finish fourth. David Coates again had a solid finish as he crossed the finish line fifth.

Kaster Driver Appreciation Award winners were Ainsworth (Out-Pace USRA B-Mods), Mark Ronnebaum (Holley USRA Stock Cars) and Austin Johnson (USRA Modifieds). The winners were decided by the fourth-place finisher in the first heat race of each class.

I-35 Speedway would like to thank C.A.R.B. President Skip Richardson for attending tonight’s races and helping Dixie Kaster pass out the awards. We would also like to congratulate David Miller III for winning the “worn out tire” race during Intermission. We especially want to thank you the fans for coming out and helping us have a great time at the races.
