Patch, Banks, Weyler look to pour it on at Thunderhill

MAYETTA, Kan. -- The Topless Outlaw Racing Association Late Models will make their first appearance of the 2006 season at Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kan., this Saturday, June 10. Although the TORA Late Models are frequent visitors to Thunderhill, the previous two races scheduled were rained out, making this a much-anticipated return to the 4/10-mile high-banked speedway.

The Late Models will be joined by the USRA Modifieds, Superstocks, USRA Stock Cars, Pony Stocks and USRA Hobby Stocks.

Delbert Smith and Joe Kosiski claimed victories in the two TORA races at Thunderhill last season, and the top 10 in TORA point standings for 2005 included Steve Kosiski, Delbert Smith, Ryan McAninch, Steve Foster, Larry McDaniels, Craig Preble, Darrick Klima, Ted Martin, Earl Kinderknecht and Rusty Miller.

In the other divisions, Travis Patch looks to continue his championship campaign in the USRA Modifieds. Patch currently leads the track point standings and is third in national standings. Waylon Banks has claimed wins in five of the last six USRA Hobby Stock events and Leif Weyer continues to lead the USRA Stock Car points. Travis Tenpenny leads the Superstock standings while Brad Hill has dominated the Pony Stocks.

Hot laps are scheduled to begin at 7 with races starting at 7:30. General admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, $5 for children 7-13 and ages 6 and under are admitted free with a paid adult.
