This week’s program at Deer Creek Speedway featured the annual bus race and school mascot night. It was presented by the Essig Agency, BK Millright, Adams Graphix, Randy & Sandy Norby along with Wagner Trucking.

Ninety-five cars signed in to race and eight buses were on hand to represent their schools. The weather was once again threatening and the heat races were clicked off in rapid fashion. Then the buses ran a pair of four lap dash races before the first feature race of the night took to the track.

Sprinkles of rain started to drip from the sky during a support class feature. Race officials waited it out for a bit but the radar showed a long period of rain so the show was postponed at that point.

The remaining four feature races will be ran next Saturday, June 24. The school bus feature race will be made up on Saturday, July 1.
