Nix captures second TOMS win at Lawton

The Touring Outlaw Modified Series rolled into Lawton Speedway with 24 USRA Modifieds for the Saturday evening show.

With no luck in the draw, C.A. Nix started eighth in his heat race. Dicing through traffic, he managed to finish in the top eight in passing points. His luck improved on the redraw with the fourth starting position for the Day Motor Sports "A" Main.

At the drop of the green flag for the 25-lap feature that went green to checkered without a caution, Triston Dycus set the pace for the first 14 laps. Nix worked his way up to Dycus's bumper, holding pace until lapped traffic got involved.

With the help of lapped car at lap 15, Nix made the high line work enough to get around Dycus and the lapped car in one move. With Nix out front, he worked through traffic and kept Dycus at bay to collect his second TOMS victory of the season.

The Touring Outlaw Modified Series will next race on Friday, July 28, at the RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas, and then Saturday, July 29, at the Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, for the two-night of Hella Shrine Classic.
