Lucas Oil Speedway doubles Out-Pace USRA B-Mod purse for Larry Phillips Memorial

A big Labor Day Weekend of racing at Lucas Oil Speedway has become even more intriguing with a significant purse boost to the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod portion of Saturday night's Larry Phillips Memorial.

Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson announced on Monday that the winner of the 30-lap Out-Pace USRA B-Mod feature will take home $1,075—more than double the originally listed payout.

Robinson also said the remaining feature finishing positions also will be doubled.

"Our Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mod racing this season has been outstanding and we're so appreciative of how all of those guys have supported us throughout the 2017 season," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson said. "We really want to give them an opportunity to be showcased during one of our big weekends."

Robinson noted that there will be no entry fee for the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod drivers and that the event also will count toward Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points.

"This also is another way to pay tribute to the late, great Larry Philips," Robinson said, noting the five-time NASCAR Weekly Racing Series National Champion from Springfield and his iconic car No. 75. "We've doubled the $500-to-win and added $75 to it."

The complete B-Mod payout will be: 1. $1075, 2. $800, 3. $600, 4. $500, 5. $400, 6. $190, 7. $180, 8. $170, 9. $160, 10. $150, 11. $140, 12. $130, 13. $120, 14-24. $100, B-Main non-transfers: $80.

Andy Bryant of Fort Scott, Kan., won the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series finale last Saturday, also clinching the track championship. Bryant also is chasing the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod national championship and held a narrow lead over Ryan Gillmore of Springfield, Mo., in the most-recently updated points at USRAracing.com.

The other half of Saturday's Lucas Oil Speedway doubleheader will find the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Models chasing a $5,075 feature prize in the Larry Phillips Memorial.

The entire program this weekend, both the B-Mods and Late Models, will be filmed for broadcast later this fall on MAVTV.
