Karsyn's Krusaders joins USRA to kick off Childhood Cancer Awareness Month at Fayette County Speedway

Cancer’s butt is fixin’ to get kicked Friday night when the Iron Man Challenge featuring Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods and the USMTS Hunt for the Casey’s Cup joins Karsyn’s Krusaders at the Fayette County Speedway in West Union, Iowa.

“Kickin’ Cancer’s Butt, One Lap at a Time” is more than just a slogan—it’s what Karsyn’s Krusaders does every day.

All fans, drivers and their families are encouraged to wear pink to the race track Friday to show your support for cancer research and survivors.

After the National Anthem Friday night, there will be a moment of silence to remember the late Jessica Miller and recognize the start of September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Eight pink balloons will be released to honor the eight years Jessica spearheaded the Karsyn’s Krusaders effort and changed so many lives with her caring way and dedication.

Thirty gold balloons will be released to represent each day of September as we remember the kids and families effected by cancer.

Three honorary starters will wave the green flag to start the main events Friday night. Kameron Roberts will send the USMTS Modifieds on their way, Melissa Shanks will be in the flagstand for the start of the Holley USRA Stock Car feature and Gary Hovden will be the starter for the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods.

One week ago in Des Moines, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month proclamation recognizing September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Karsyn’s Krusaders Vice-President Andy Miller joined board member Shane O'Malley, along with several other families and organizations, as Iowa Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg signed a proclamation on Aug. 25 recognizing September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
