Fun doesn't end when engines are silent at Featherlite Fall Jamboree

Incredible racing courtesy of the most talented dirt modified racers in the world is the name of the game at the Featherlite Fall Jamboree, but the good times don’t end at the checkered flag.

Set for Thursday-Saturday, Sept. 21-23, the 19th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree gets underway Thursday, Sept. 21, at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., where the world’s elite Modified and B-Mod drivers will be racing for three nights and nearly $150,000 in posted prize money.

Early bird race fans can get a free preview of the action, and drivers will get their chance to make final adjustments to their machines with an open practice from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20.

After the action ends on Thursday, the public is invited to the pit area to hang out with drivers and crews for a live DJ and karaoke under the tent following the races.

On Friday morning, the annual Club Car Jamboree Open golf scramble for racers, crew members, event officials and fans will tee off at 10 a.m. at the Willow Creek Golf Course, located about two miles from the Rochester Airport. Sign-in begins at 9 a.m. The top three teams will score cash prizes and many other awesome prizes will also be awarded.

Back by popular demand for the sixth straight year, The Dweebs will be rocking the Deer Creek Speedway party tent Friday night under the big top immediately following the final race of the night. Family owned and operated since 1987, America's Favorite Party Band will be playing free for all race attendees and all ages.

The fun doesn’t end there.

Bragging rights for this year’s Jamboree Bean Bag Tournament near the campground area begins with sign-in at 11:00 a.m. and the battle begins at high noon.

For early risers with a hankering for a delicious hot breakfast, the Bear Creek Lutheran Church will be back again this year serving up breakfast in the concession area on Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings from 8-11 a.m.

On the track, fans will witness a complete program all three nights, with $5,000 going to the USMTS Modified winner on the first two nights while Saturday’s winner will pocket a cool $10,000. The Iron Man Challenge Out-Pace USRA B-Mods will battle for $750 to win Thursday, $1,000 to win Friday and $1,200 to win Saturday.

Thursday is the final event in the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental with the crowning of the 2017 USMTS national champion at the conclusion of the night's main event. B-Mod drivers will earn points in both the Iron Man Challenge and Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points all three nights.

Saturday’s annual Modified Non-Qualifiers Race will dole out $2,000 to the winner prior to the $10,000-to-win championship race which will start a minimum of 30 cars three-wide on the high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval. The Non-Qualifiers Race will also have 30 cars on the track.

New for 2017, a second Non-Qualifiers Race for the Modifieds has been added to Thursday's program which will pay $700 to win and no less than $100 to start for each of the 24 starters.

Ticket prices for spectators are $25 Thursday, $25 Friday and $30 Saturday. A three-day reserved ticket is $80. Kids ages 12 and under are $10 per night or a three-day reserved ticket is $30.
