Johnny Bone Jr. won the USRA Modified feature.

Round one of the $10,000 September to Remember four-week championship event is now in the books at Tri-State Speedway with 65 cars taking on the famous high banks in Pocola, Okla.

Mother Nature, after all of the early season rain outs, has apparently decided she likes the racing at Tri-State Speedway as she once again gave us perfect racing weather with a slight southerly breeze and temps in the low 80’s during the day and low 70’s during the event.

Once again, the track was in top-notch form, even with a small amount of last-minute watering that took place in Turn 2 that caused a slight delay in getting the racing action underway.

In the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod feature, Kevin Guinn of Fayetteville, Ark., went to victory lane for the fifth time this season as Dean Green took home second place over Daniel Tarkington.

Kevin Guinn won the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod feature.

The USRA Modifieds took to the high banks last for their feature. Johnny Bone Jr. of Pea Ridge, Ark.,) was able to pick up another win, his third in as many races at Tri-State Speedway. Tate Cole was second over a fast Kyle Ledford.

Just a reminder that none of the $10,000 September to Remember events count toward, or will affect, their season track points. The last points race for the classes will be the 47th Annual Points Championship races Oct. 7.

Tri-State Speedway will return to action next Saturday, Sept. 16, for the second of four consecutive Saturday nights of racing in the month-long $20,000 September to Remember special. Complete information on this event can be found on our website and social media channels.

The green flag for competition drops at 8 p.m. with both pit and grandstand gates opening at 5. the driver’s meeting is at 7 and hot laps are scheduled for 7:30.
