Johnny Bone Jr. won the USRA Modified feature.

Round two of the $10,000 September to Remember four-week championship event is now in the book with 66 cars in four classes taking on the famous high banks in Pocola, OK. With temps In the low 90’s at go time, it was a little warmer than it has been the last few weeks, but still very comfortable. The track prep worked well and the “black ice” made an appearance for the feature racing and produced some awesome three-wide action.

The pre-race ceremonies started at 7:59 PM with the invocation and the playing of the National Anthem, along with a parade lap led by the 51 car of Andrew Bohanan in honor of his late pit crew member, Johnathan Bash. Also joining him was Brad Johnson and Austin Farnam.

Heat race lineups for all four classes competing in the September to Remember event were determined by the driver’s draw at sign in each night. The classes advanced to their features via their finish in their heats. Plus, the last heat winner in each class drew a number for the number of rows to invert for the A Feature.

At intermission, everyone had a chance to grab themselves some of the great food items from the concessions as race winners from the previous week were on hand to get their trophies and photos taken. The 50/50 drawing was held before the last A feature of the night.

Up next was the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod A Feature where Hunter Byers (M19 – Rogers, AR) went to Victory Lane for the fourth time this season as Bobby Ward (33 – Tahlequah, OK) took home second place over Brian Williams (726 – Fayetteville, AR).

Hunter Byers won the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod feature.

The USRA Modifieds took to the high banks last for their A Feature. Johnny Bone, Jr. (12 – Pea Ridge, AR) was able to repeat his Week 1 win and his fourth in as many races at Tri-State Speedway. Trevor Latham (27L – Rogers, AR) crossed the line only inches behind the winner as Kyle Ledford (75 – Greenwood, AR) repeated his third place finish from Week 1.

All race results, including heats are available on our website at The current top three drivers in each class are also posted there, as well as full season point standings for each class.

Just a reminder that none of the $10,000 September to Remember events count toward, or will affect, their season track points. The last points race for the classes will be the 47th Annual Points Championship races on October 7th, 2017.

Tri-State Speedway will return to action again on September 23rd, 2017 for the third of four consecutive Saturday nights of racing in the month-long “$20,000 September to Remember” special. Complete information on this event can be found on our website and social media channels.

The green flag for competition drops at 7 PM with both pit gates and grandstand gates opening at 4 PM. Driver’s meeting is at 6 PM and hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 PM. NOTE: This is one hour earlier than normal, due to it getting darker earlier.
