Trevor Latham won the USRA Modified feature.

Round three of the $10,000 September to Remember four-week championship event is now complete with 65 cars in four classes taking on the famous high banks in Pocola, OK. With temps in the mid-90’s at 7 PM, it was a warm evening, but was more tolerable after the sun set over turns three and four. A big thanks goes out to Tonto Construction for their dirt work on the track.

With the move of the start time back an hour earlier, the pre-race ceremonies started at 7:15 PM with four Dustin’s Dream cars on the front straight. Information was provided to the fans about Dustin’s Dream before the invocation and the playing of the National Anthem. The four cars of Steve Butler (40), Dean Green (28), Steve Holzkamper (5) and Jason Payton (6) from Dustin’s Dream carried the American Flag during the anthem.

Heat race lineups for all four classes competing in the September to Remember event were determined by the driver’s draw at sign in each night. The classes advanced to their features via their finish in their heats. Plus, the last heat winner in each class drew a number for the number of rows to invert for the A Feature.

At intermission, everyone had a chance to grab themselves some of the great food items from the concessions as race winners from the previous week were on hand to get their trophies and photos taken, along with a quick interview. Fans also stopped by the new Fujibayashi Photography shop to pick up some photos of their favorite drivers. The 50/50 drawing was also held at intermission and several gift certificates were given away to Ed Walker’s Drive In, Miss Anna’s, Calico County and Discount Tire to non-50/50 winners and to general admission ticket holders.

Up next was the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod feature where Kevin Guinn (788 – Fayetteville, AR) went to Victory Lane for the sixth time this season as Daniel Tarkington (2 - Checotah, OK) took home second place over last week’s winner, Hunter Byers (M19 – Rogers, AR).

Kevin Guinn won the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod feature.

The USRA Modifieds took to the high banks last for their A Feature. Last week’s second-place car, Trevor Latham (27L – Rogers, AR) crossed the line first this week as Tate Cole (89 – Muskogee, OK) finished in second over a charging Brian Williams (26 – Fayetteville, AR).

A Feature results for the event are listed at the bottom of this release. All race results, including heats are available on our website at www.Tri-StateSpeedway.com. The current top three drivers in each class are also posted there, as well as full season point standings for each class.

Just a reminder that none of the $10,000 September to Remember events count toward, or will affect, the season track points. The last points race for the classes will be the 47th Annual Points Championship races on October 7th, 2017.

Tri-State Speedway will return to action again on September 30th, 2017 for week four of four consecutive Saturday nights of racing in the month-long “$10,000 September to Remember” special. Joining us for week four will be Spooker Late Models that will be competing for $1,000 to win. Complete information on this event can be found on our website and social media channels.

The green flag for competition drops at 7 PM with both pit gates and grandstand gates opening at 4 PM. Driver’s meeting is at 6 PM and hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 PM. NOTE: This is one hour earlier than normal, due to it getting darker earlier.
