Springfield Raceway set for season opener


The 2018 championship chase starts Saturday evening, March 31, at the exciting quarter-mile dirt track of the Springfield Raceway as the Tribute to Don Haase kicks off the points chase. Haase was an official at the track who passed away well before his time.

Action will feature USRA Modifieds and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods, plus Pure Stocks, Legends Cars, Midwest Mods and Mini-Late Models making a special visit.

Defending Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series track champions are Jackie Dalton of Carthage ( USRA Modifieds) and Ryan Gilmore of Springfield (Out-Pace USRA B-Mods). Gillmore was also the 2017 USRA national champion in the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod division.

Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. with hot laps starting at 6 while the exciting action starts at 6:30. Draw cutoff will be at 5:50. Grandstand gates open at 5 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $15 for adults with kids ages 12 and under free. Pit passes are $30 for adults, kids ages 6-12 are $15 and children 5 and under get in for free. RACEivers are required.
