It was a beautiful day to start for night number two at Deer Creek Speedway. Barclay Landscaping presented this week’s program that quickly turned sour when feature time rolled around.

A line of heavy thunderstorms raced towards the speedway and would eventually put a halt to the show.

Forty Out-Pace USRA B-Mods and 27 USRA Modifieds were signed in, and heat races were completed in all classes.

But when the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods came out for their feature, the storm was on the doorstep. Rain started to fall on the pace lap and the cars were sent back off the speedway.

Heavy rain, hail, thunder and lightning then enveloped the facility and that put an end to the night.

Next Saturday, May 12, it will be double features for the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods and USRA Modifieds, along with a full program for all five classes.
