Deer Creek opening weekend postponed

SPRING VALLEY, Minn. -- Due to the difficult weather conditions officials from Deer Creek Speedway announce a schedule change for the opening weekend of the Southern Minnesota speedplant.

Practice for Wednesday, April 4, is cancelled and racing action for Saturday, April 7, is cancelled.

Practice will now be held on Saturday, April 7, from 1-5 p.m. The new opener will be held on Saturday, April 14, with racing action starting at 5 p.m.

With the poor drying conditions and cold temperatures, there is no feasible way to work in all of the new clay that was added to the track last fall.

Hope to see everyone at practice on Saturday or for the season opener on Saturday, April 14.
