John Carney won the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod feature.

Opening the two-night Salute to Indy on Saturday at the Southern New Mexico Speedway, the lineup of winners was led by John Carney and Donavon Flores.

Carney picked up the win with the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods with a three-wide pass for the lead in the final laps of the 25-lap feature. Patiently around the inside line through the closing laps, Carney was tailed by Jaime Torres who was by far the hard charger of the night with a run from 21st to second.

Greg Gorham from 11th contended for the lead for most of the race before settling for third. Josh Cain from 15th was fourth with early race leader Sherman Barnett making up the top five.

With 18 Holley USRA Stock Cars on hand, the feature—while littered with cautions—was anyone's for the taking. With numerous lead changes, the advantage finally fell the way to 13th-starting Donavon Flores who edged out fellow seventh-row starter Jimmy Ray for the win.

Leading for several laps, Lloyd Turner ended up third with Josh Reynolds and Pete Vargas from 17th to complete the top five.

The Salute to Indy at the Southern New Mexico Speedway wraps up on Sunday, May 27, featuring the Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods, along with ASCS Southwest Region sprint cars, Anthony Sosa Roofing Late Models, Casa Nissan Legends of the Southwest and RacerWebsite.com Mini Sprints. Gates open 5 p.m. with racing getting underway at 7:45,
