Season opener pushed back to April 21

MEMPHIS, Mo. -- The start to the 2007 racing season at the Pepsi Scotland County Speedway will have to wait one more week. Poor weather conditions throughout this week and the month of April have forced RL Promotions officials to pull the plug on Saturday’s season-opening event at the 3/8-mile clay oval.

But race fans won’t have long to wait before the roar of engines once again engulf the facility. The first race of the 2007 season will now be Saturday, April 27, when the high-powered stars and cars of the O’Reilly United States Modified Touring Series invades Memphis for the 2nd Annual Iowa-Missouri Border War.

Saturday’s event at the Pepsi Scotland County Speedway will also be the first track points night for the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks, Outlaw Hobbys and Hornets. With the O’Reilly USMTS Modifieds headlining the program, the USRA Modifieds will have their first points night the following Saturday, April 28.

Gates will open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 6 and racing at 6:30. Grandstand admission will be $15 for adults, kids ages 6-12 are $5 and children 5 and under get in for FREE. Pit passes will be $25.
