CRESCO, Iowa -- The start to the 2007 racing season at the Cresco Speedway will have to wait one more week.

Due to rain on Thursday and Friday, officials at RL Promotions have moved the 2007 season opener to Friday, May 11, at the 4/10-mile clay oval speedplant in Northeast Iowa.

A new era will begin as the historic Mighty Howard County Fairgrounds switches from Sundays to Fridays for regular weekly shows. An exciting season of racing under the United States Racing Association banner will kick off on Friday, May 11, with the season opener for the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Outlaw Hobbys presented by Precision Overhead Doors.

For more information, contact the RL Promotions offices at (515) 832-6000 or visit www.rlpromotions.com/cresco online. Race day info is available by calling the track hotline at (563) 547-3400. The Cresco Speedway is located 0.2 miles north of SR 9 on SW 7th (at the Howard County Fairgrounds).
