Bo makes it his Day at SOS

He was BO-DAY-CIOUS! Bo Day kept his foot to the floor to win the Touring Outlaw Modified Series feature race on Saturday at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore.

Day, of Greenville, Texas, was constantly pestered by points leader C.A. Nix of Lawton but slammed the door on every occasion that Nix made a move.

The key to the race was Day getting a great restart following a lap-2 red flag that held the race up for nearly 20 minutes. The incident occurred in turn 1 when Cam Case of Edmond and Brandon Pinson of Wichita Falls, Texas, spun and then locked rear wheels together. It took two tow trucks and the use of a impact wrench to free the cars without any further damage.

Troy Taylor of Midlothian, Texas, finished third, Danny Veal of Princeton, Texas, was fourth and fifth was Billy Brierton of Greenville, Texas. Sixth went to Triston Dycus of Alvarado, Texas, finishing seventh was Charlie Smith from Forney, Texas, and eighth went to Case who made a nice rally. Ninth was Mitchell Clement of Bonham, Texas, and rounding out the top 10 was Wesley Veal of Princeton, Texas.

The first heat race was won by Colby Smith from Greenville, Texas, number 2 went to Dycus and the third heat was won by Mike Dillard of McKinney, Texas.

The TOMS gang will next race at Lawton speedway in Lawton, Okla., on Saturday, July 14, and then will head to Lubbock, Texas, on Friday, July 20, to race at the West Texas Raceway and will follow that up the next night on Saturday, July 21, at the Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas.
