LANSING, Minn. - The score now reads "Mother Nature 3, Chateau Raceway 2" in the duel for Friday night's attempted racing action. After losing the first two weeks of the season to cold and snow, the Husquvarna-sponsored facility was able to run shows the last two weeks but this week the rains came early in the day and there was not enough time to attempt to get the track race ready.

On top of that, the threat of rain was still in the forecast for the rest of the night with occassional rain likely to wipe out the night anyway so the decision to pull the plug was made mid-afternoon.

Racing action will resume next Friday night with six classes of racing action as well as a special Kids Night promotion with rides in the stock cars before the start of the evening's program. Parents are urged to have their kids out to the track early next week. Shortly after the 6:45 p.m. cut off and pit meeting, the track will start getting the drivers out on the track to start giving the rides. The plan is to have the rides done in time for the show to start on schedule at 7:30.

This will actually be the first of two opportunities on the schedule this year for the kids to get to ride in the stock cars as there is another one in the plans for later in the summer.

This last weeks kids promotion was suppose to be Kids Ride Thru The Pits Night with wagons taking the kids on a tour of the pits before the program started to see the drivers prepping their cars for the nights racing program. A decision on if or when to reschedule that has not been made yet.
