Christy’s Tasty Queen presents Smokin’ Hot Summer Series Friday at Lakeside Speedway

This Friday, July 20, action at the Lakeside Speedway is presented by Christy’s Tasty Queen. Known for ‘KC’s Best Tenderloin’ since 1982 at 1405 South 55th Street, featuring a full take-out menu including malts, shakes, burgers, sandwiches, sides, and much more, Christy’s Tasty Queen is a must-stop dining location. Lowell and Marla Christy and son, Darrin ‘Bear’ Christy, are one of the friendliest and well-known racing families in the Kansas City region. Stop by and pickup something on the go Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Due to the summer heat Lakeside Speedway will continue with the 30-minute later start times through Friday, Sept. 7. This Friday, pit gate opens at 5 p.m., spectator gates at 5:30, drivers meeting at 7:15, hot laps at 7:30 and racing at 8.

General admission is $12, senior citizens (65+) and military $10, kids 7 to 12 years $6 and under are free! Air-conditioned suites tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids ages 2 to 10 years. Pit passes for adults are $30, kids (6 and under) pit passes are $10.

Friday also marks week two of the 10-week Rick Beebe Heating & Air Smokin’ Hot Summer Series presented by Prime Racing Products. USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods are competing in the mini-series.

Kevin Anderson leads the Holley USRA Stock Car action with last week’s feature winner Brett Heeter and David Oxford in second and third. Tim Powell has a slight edge over Brad Smith and leads the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod contingent with Luke Nieman third. In USRA Modifieds, Mark Schafman sits atop the standings with Kerry Davis and USRA national points leader Darron Fuqua second and third.
