It was Back-To-School Night on Saturday for the young race fans at the Hamilton County Speedway driven by Spangler Automotive and four classes battled for a spot in Integrity Trucking Victory Lane.

In the Holley USRA Stock Cars, Todd Staley scored a wire-to-wire victory over a strong field of full-fendered racers. Churdan’s Jason Minnehan, who started eighth, chased Staley to the checkered flag while Curt Hook of Ackley, Bob Sutherland of Blairsburg and Josh Zieman of Plymouth following to fill out the top five.

Despite struggling to an eighth-place finish, Steve Jackson of Polk City clinched the 2018 Holley USRA Stock Car track championship with one more week of points racing left to go.

Brandon Toftee of Otho earned the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod victory the hard way by coming from the eighth starting spot and also holding off track champion Ty Griffith of Webster City, who rolled off tenth on the grid after winning last week’s feature while sewing up the track title.

Jason Bass of Fort Dodge, Doug McCollough of Webster City and Brett Meyer of Lytton rounded out the top five.

Eric Stanton of Carlisle had already buttoned up this year’s Cook Racing Supplies USRA Hobby Stock track championship, and the driver from Carlisle but a bow on top by steering his No. 7B machine to his seventh win of the season at the historic half-mile oval.

Myles Michehl of Fort Dodge passed ten cars en route to a second-place finish with 15th-starting Matt Smith of Des Moines taking third. Jamie Songer of Ankeny and Tanner Green of Hampton were fourth and fifth, respectively.

In the USRA Tuner feature, Ryan Bryant of Mason City solidified his track championship with another win, followed by Justin Nielson of Luverne, Brad Mayland of Britt and Jordan Wagner of Webster behind the wheel of the D&B Agro-Systems rent-a-ride.
