CARB Night, racing fun continues at I-35 Speedway this Saturday


Racing fun continues at I-35 Speedway this Saturday, Aug. 25. Last Saturday 98 race cars were in competition and this week brings another great night of side-by-side, nose-to-tail racing competition. Time flies when you are having fun.

This Saturday is also Central Auto Racing Boosters (CARB) Night at the I-35 Speedway, and all CARB members get in for free. Founded in 1952 to support circle track racing, CARB hosts an annual banquet, bowl-a-thon and hall-of-fame ceremony, and this weekend they are bringing Sparky their mascot and a pinewood derby track. It is hard to believe this month has flown by with Kids Night, the Trackside BBQ Bash, Smokin' Hot Summer Series and Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series every Saturday night featuring USRA Modifieds, Out-Pace USRA B-Mods and Holley USRA Stock Cars along with E Mods, Pure Stocks, Sport Compacts and Grand Nationals will have you sitting on the edge of your seat with excitement.

I-35 Speedway is located at exit 64 off Interstate 35. Gates open at 4:30 p.m., hot laps are at 6:15 and racing begins at 7 p.m. Adults are $12, seniors (62 and over) are $10 and those ages 18 and younger are free.

Concessions are available throughout the facility featuring large tenderloins, hot fries, walking tacos, hot dogs, hamburgers, snow cones, sweet funnel cakes, root beer floats and beverages of your choice to satisfy your appetite. The Trackside Bar & Grill overlooking the racing in turn 1 is a great place for dinner. Clean restrooms and always free parking, where else would you be on Saturday night other than I-35 Speedway?
