Dycus does it again, wins Hella Shrine Classic

There have been times this season where Triston Dycus has simply been a one-man gang, and Saturday night at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas, was a prime example in more ways than one.

In front of a packed house, Dycus for the fourth time this season won the Hella Shriners Classic feature race of the Touring Outlaws Modified Series wire to wire to move into the top spot of the points standings, but this time he shared the wealth big time.

He first won a lucky fan $50 for his first-place finish after the intermission redraw, but he then went all-in on his next move by donating his entire first-place purse of $1,500 to the Hella Shriners.

Quite a gesture from a class act.

Troy Taylor came in second, Bo Day was third, Chris Huckaba was fourth and Bobby Ruffin finished fifth.

In the first heat Wesley Veal was first with Skip O' Neal second and Chris Huckaba third. Heat #2 was won by Day with Taylor second and Kyle Wentworth third. The third heat was nabbed by Dycus, with Jim Knight the runner-up and Ruffin third.

And checkered flags go to TOMS head man Keith Pirtle who became a grandfather again when niece Courtney, whom he raised, delivered a baby girl. Mother and daughter are said to be doing well.

The next stop for the TOMS gang will be the Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore, Okla., on Saturday, Sept. 1, and then on to the RPM speedway in Crandall, Texas, on Sunday, Sept. 2.
