There's gonna be Sunshne in Las Cruces this October.

Early entries have been pouring in for the 19th Annual Budweiser USRA Fall Nationals which takes place Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 25-28 at the Southern New Mexico Speedway.

Presented by Rancho Milagro, S&S Fishing & Rental, Barnett Harley-Davidson, G3 Fitness, Mesilla Valley Transportation, GottaRace.com and Arizona Sport Shirts, this year's blockbuster event will be the final time that race cars will circle the 3/8-mile clay oval in Las Cruces, N.M., before moving to a new state-of-the-art home in nearby Vado next spring.

With drivers looking to be the last-ever winner at the popular speedplant, early entries have been plentiful and dotted with many of the biggest names in dirt modified racing, but perhaps none bigger than the latest entrant from the world of dirt late models.

Officials are excited to announce that Scott Bloomquist—a four-time World 100 winner, three-time Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series champion and seven time winner of Eldora Speedway’s $100,000-to-win “The Dream”—will be piloting a USRA Modified owned and prepared by Scott Brothers Racing for this year's “Last Dance in Las Cruces.”

Winner of more than 600 races in his career, the 54-year-old from Mooresburg, Tenn., known as “Black Sunshine” is one of the winningest and most popular dirt track racers off all time, but his accomplishments reach beyond the dirt late model ranks.

In his first-ever dirt modified race in 2004, he captured the Alltel 100 at the Batesville Speedway in Locust Grove, Ark., and pocketed $100,000 for his efforts. Most recently, he competed in the USRA Modified Nationals at the Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., two years ago and finished a close second to Ryan Gustin in a race that paid $40,000 to win.

The Dirt Late Model Hall-of-Famer will be one of many top USRA competitors in attendance for the event, along with one of the toughest fields of local competitors in the nation that includes the likes of father-son combinations Fito and Jake Gallardo, and Royal and Bumper Jones.

Johnny Scott, who clinched the USMTS national championship for 2018 two weeks ago, is a former weekly racer at the track and will join his twin brother Stormy Scott in the star-studded field too.

Holley USRA Stock Cars, Out-Pace USRA B-Mods, Legends Cars and Super Trucks will also be racing each night of the 19th Annual Budweiser USRA Fall Nationals.

“B” Main non-transfers get $800 and “C” Main non-transfers will earn $500. The entry fee for USRA Modifieds is $250 if received on or before Oct. 1. Late or at-the-track entry is $300.

USRA Modifieds utilizing roller cam 23-degree steel engines must weigh a minimum 2,450 pounds and may use a five-inch spoiler. All other USRA rules apply. Heat race passing points will determine main event line-ups. The top 5 in Friday’s “A” Main advance to the inside row of Sunday’s “A” Main and the top 5 in Saturday’s “A” Main advance to the outside row of Sunday’s “A” Main.

The entry fee covers all three nights and is $100 for Holley USRA Stock Cars and $50 for Out-Pace USRA B-Mods. Stock Cars will pay $1,000 to win Friday and Saturday and $3,000 to win Sunday. B-Mods will pay $1,000 to win each day.

This event is sanctioned by the United States Racing Association and will award Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points for Modifieds, Stock Cars and B-Mods. Mufflers are mandatory (any type of muffler is acceptable). RACEceivers and AMB transponders are mandatory and available for rent or purchase.

The Southern New Mexico Speedway is a high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval located 11 miles west of Las Cruces at the Southern New Mexico State Fairgrounds. Take exit 132, go left and take the frontage road south of I-10 heading west.
