Cresco Speedway readies for 3rd Annual Kabrick Distributing Great American Stock Car Classic

CRESCO, Iowa — A full field of fierce, ferocious and fendered Stock Cars will entertain Cresco Speedway fans for two nights as the 3rd Annual Kabrick Distributing Great American Stock Car Classic takes place on Thursday and Friday, July 5-6, at the 4/10-mile speedplant at the Howard County Fairgrounds in Cresco, Iowa.

USRA Stock Car drivers will be battling for a big, fat $3,000 top prize, with $200 on the line for all 24 starters in Saturday's main event. Also on the card both nights will be USRA Modifieds, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Outlaw Hobbys. All classes will race for USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series national points both nights, with track points being awarded Friday night only. A USRA license is not required for this race.

On Thursday night, drivers in all classes will draw for heat race starting spots. The top-8 cars from Thursday night's main event will fill the first four rows of Friday night's $3,000-to-win Stock Car main event. On Thursday all cars will redraw for heat races with a TBD number of drivers making it straight to the A-Main and rest moving to the B-Main(s). Twenty-four cars will start Friday night's A-Main. Tow money will be paid to all drivers racing both days but failing to qualify. To be eligible for full payout, driver must attend both nights.

Entry fee will be $25 for Stock Cars and $15 for Hobby Stocks, B-Mods and Outlaw Hobbys if post-marked by July 3. At the track, Stock Cars are $75, while Hobby Stocks, B-Mods and Outlaw Hobbys are $40. There will be no refunds given to drivers who pre-enter but fail to attend this event. Tow will be $75 for Stock Cars and $50 for B-Mods, Hobby Stocks and Outlaw Hobbys.

 
On both days, pit gates will open at 4:00 p.m. with grandstand gates opening at 5:00. Hot will begin at 7:00, with racing to follow. Adult tickets are $12 on Thursday and $15 on Friday. Juniors (ages 13-18) and seniors (62 and older) are $12 on Thursday and $10 on Friday. Children ages 12 and under are FREE both days. Pit passes both days are $25.

RULES:

Hobby Stocks: 9:1 360-cubic-inch limit; No weight rule.
Stock Cars: Roller rockers allowed (no roller cams); Two-barrel carburetor allowed (Rochester, Motorcraft or untouched Holley 4412); Grooving and/or siping of tires allowed; American Racer KK704 or G60 tire, stamped or non-stamped (must be asphalt) recommended. Hoosier G60 tires also allowed.
B-Mods: Weekly track or Sportsmod rules.
Outlaw Hobbys: Weekly track rules will apply.
