USRA Late Models get 19 nights in 2019 at Cedar Lake Speedway


The 2019 season at the legendary Cedar Lake Speedway is set to take flight with an open practice on Friday, April 5, followed by a single-day season opener dubbed the Prep for the Opener on Saturday, April 6. USRA Late Models will be in action along with the track's other six regular divisions on opening night to shake down their machines after the long off-season.

USRA Late Models will be on the racing card 19 times during the 2019 season with drivers competing for track and national points in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series.

Lance Hofer of Cochrane, Wis., captured his second straight USRA Late Model national championship in 2018.

The following weekend will be Cedar Lake’s first multi-day event of the season, as the Legendary 100, which is held each September, is replicated for a spring event April 10-13 with USRA Late Models on Thursday night, April 11.

The NASCAR Dash Series returns to Cedar Lake with a bit of a twist in 2019. All six regular divisions will be a part of the Dash Series which will run 12 events throughout the course of the season. Dash Series events for USRA Late Models will take place on April 20, April 27, May 4, June 1, June 29, July 13, July 20, July 27, Aug. 10 and Aug. 17. The final Dash Series event on Aug. 17 will also be Season Championships night. Dash Series points funds will be paid out at the end of the season.

Saturday, May 11, is the annual school bus races and Saturday, May 25, is Pack the Track Night featuring free grandstand admission for all spectators. Racing action will include USRA Late Models both of these nights.

The second multi-day event of the season will take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 13-15, as the 20th Annual Masters is on tap featuring three complete shows for the USMTS Modifieds, Late Models and USRA Late Models. The 32nd Annual USA Nationals featuring the World of Outlaws Late Model Series is Aug. 1-3 with a full show of USRA Late Models on Thursday, Aug. 1.

The four-day Legendary 100 happens Sept. 11-13 with USRA Late Models slated to race on Thursday, Aug. 12.
