Heavy rain cancels May 18 opener at I-90 Speedway

Powerful overnight rain has again forced the grand re-opening of I-90 Speedway will be pushed back one week.

May 25 is now the scheduled opener as Coca-Cola presents the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring Out-Pace USRA B-Mods and Cook Racing Supplies USRA Hobby Stocks.

"This weather is so frustrating for all of us at I-90 Speedway," said Rod Pattison, general manager of the I-90 Speedway. "We need some dry weather. We're going to even the score eventually but right now it's Mother Nature three, I-90 Speedway zero."

The May 25 season opener will feature early access for teams with the pit gate opening at 2 p.m. Fans may also enter early at 4 p.m.
