Lucas Oil Speedway cancelled due to threat of rain, severe weather

The Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series program at Lucas Oil Speedway scheduled for Saturday, May 18, has been cancelled due to the threat of rain and severe weather. The entire area is also under a Tornado Watch.

"With the forecast for showers and thunderstorms into Saturday evening, some possibly severe, we have decided to go ahead and cancel for the safety of our drivers and fans," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. "We look forward to seeing everyone next weekend for the Show-Me 100."

The scheduled double features for the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods will be held at the next Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series event on June 8.

The biggest racing weekend of the season at Lucas Speedway is set for next Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 23-25, with the 27th annual Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 presented by ProtecttheHarvest.com. The crown jewel event for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and Lucas Oil MLRA Series will have full programs all three nights for both the Late Models and USRA Modifieds.

Saturday's show features a $1,200-to-win USRA Modified feature. Drivers will earn points the first two nights toward the feature starting line-up on Saturday.
