Chateau Raceway hosts awards banquet, announces return of USRA Modifieds to weekly slate

LANSING, Minn. - Chateau Raceway put the finishing touches on its 2007 racing season recently with its annual awards banquet. Trophies were handed out in all six classes to the top drivers at the event held at the Oaks Country Club in Hayfield in late November.

Along with the awards there was plenty of discussion of the the past season as well as what sort of things they would like to see for next year. Among the items discussed was the possible changes for next season in regards to the classes of cars that would be run. It was announced at that time that the Classic Dwarf cars would not return next year but they were looking at adding a different class to take there place next year. With the calendar year winding down the track has made the decision in regard to that.

The 2008 season will see the return of the WISSOTA Super Stocks at Chateau. Along with the WISSOTA Super Stocks, Chateau Raceway will once again feature USRA Modifieds, WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, WISSOTA Street Stocks, Pure Stocks and Hornets. The track will once again feature Friday night racing action with a 7:30 race time. The final touches are being put on the schedule but several specials are being planned again for next year including the 11th Annual Mike Guttormson Memorial, visits from the USMTS Modifieds and more, including the fall invitationals they have added the past few years.

Chateau Raceway wishes all a happy Holiday Season and we will be looking forward to seeing everyone all at the annual car show at the Oak Park Mall in Austin with a tentative date of March 22-23.

The track also announced the annual Test and Tune date will be March 29, with the season opener scheduled for April 4.
