OSKALOOSA, Iowa - On Wednesday, July 2, the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, was rolled in and ready to host the 13th Annual MUSCO Lighting Great American Stock Car Shootout, but Mother Nature intervened with rain and caused the event to be postponed.

Action is still on as planned for Thursday, July 3, at the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa, for the 5th Annual Kabrick Distributing Great American Stock Car Challenge, while the event at Oskaloosa has been postponed to next Wednesday, July 9.

Thursday's show at Cresco will feature a $1,000 top prize in the USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Car division's main event and $400 to the winner of the USRA Hobby Stock feature. The high-powered USRA Modifieds will be racing for $1,000 to win while the USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods will compete for $400 to win. Outlaw Hobbys will also join the card at Cresco Thursday and race for $300 to win.

The big money is now up for grabs at the Southern Iowa Speedway next Wednesday. Stock Car drivers will have a chance to compete for a $1,500 winner's share of the purse at Osky while Hobby Stock drivers will be battling for $700 to win. Both events are presented by Plain Motorsports of Webster City, Iowa, and both events will award track and national points in the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series. However, drivers do not need a USRA license to compete in this annual blockbuster.
