McCowan looks to keep rolling in right direction

Current USRA B-Mod national points leader Dillon McCowan of Urbana, Mo., has been on a roll in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series during Friday night action at the Lebanon Midway Speedway.

The defending track champion will be looking for another feature win under the lights this Friday, July 10, as he seeks his third straight win.

He hasn't missed a trip to victory lane since June 19 when he finished second behind Mitchell Franklin. He charged from deep in the pack on June 12 to finish third behind winner Mike Striegel.

After starting the season with two runner-up finishes to defending USRA national champ Kris Jackson, McCowan found victory lane in the third race of the season on June 5.

"Last season he had some DNFs which hurt us," McCowan said. "We worked on some of those issues during the off-season and so far it seems to be paying off."

While McCowan still holds the top spot in the track's USRA B-Mod point standings presented by S&S U-Pull-It Auto Parts, newcomer John Seets III of Brighton, Ill., has been consistent and is only 63 markers behind while Austin Seets has been climbing forward and sits in the third spot, 129 points behind the leader.

Racing action will begin at 8 p.m. with the pit gates opening at 5 along with the grandstands. Draw cut off is set for 7:30 while action also includes Late Models, Pure Stocks, Midwest Mods and front-wheel-drive Hornets.
