Work progressing on new track surface at Fountain City

FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. - The above average temperatures have allowed track workers to resume work on the newly constructed oval at the Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis.

The frost is nearly out of the ground and more than 2,000 yards of new clay has been hauled in.

Officials hope to complete the track surface over the next couple of weeks and, weather cooperating, schedule their first practice.

While track workers will still have much work to do, they would like to get some laps on the new track and allow racers to hone in on set-ups and gear selection.
