Cummins cashes in at Deer Creek

SPRING VALLEY, Minn. - On Images by Design and US Army Night at the Deer Creek Speedway, Bob Timm and Steve Wetzstein battled the first lap for the lead of the EZ Fabricating USRA Modified feature.

Wetzstein took over the lead with Mike Sorensen moving past Timm into second.

The first caution flew on lap 3 with Wetzstein leading on the restart. Another caution flew on lap 6 for a three-car spin out of turn 2.

On the restart, Wetzstein, Sorensen and Nate Wasmund ran three-wide for the lead. Sorensen and Wasmund made contact coming out of turn 4, bringing out another caution.

With the cautions out of the way for the event, Wetzstein moved out front with Wasmund in second. Jason Cummins worked his way forward on the restart and now sat in third.

With 15 laps remaining, Cummins worked under Wasmund for second. Wetzstein was running up high with Cummins along the infield as the two now battled for the next 10 laps until Cummins finally got the advantage.
