Lebanon's Kris Jackson took the top spot from Mitchell Franklin just past the halfway point of the USRA B-Mod feature Friday night and then was able to fend back a late charge from Franklin and Dayton Pursley in grabbing his fifth feature win at the Lebanon Midway Speedway this season.

Franklin brought the field to the green from his outside front row starting spot and set a quick pace over Jackson and Pursley while Jamie Mauk, Rex Harris and Brian Schutt were providing great action.

Franklin's hold slowed on lap two as Brian Myers spun in turn two, bunching the pack together as Jackson picked the top lane on the restart. Franklin was staying strong to the lower part of the track as Jackson swung to the top groove with Pursley hot on his bumper.

The quick-paced action slowed on lap six as Jeff Hooper stalled in turn four. On the restart the yellow waved for debris as the pack went single file with Franklin holding the top spot.

Opening a four-car advantage on the restart over the two-time USRA national champion, the green run saw Jackson start to close the gap and overtook the top spot after a hard three-lap battle with Franklin while Pursley was looming in the shadow.

A late caution gave Franklin a shot for the win, but Jackson kept him at bay. Following the lead duo to the line was Pursley, Schutt and Harris.

Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series action featuring USRA B-Mods continues next Friday night along with Super Stocks, Midwest Mods, Pure Stocks and Hornets with a fireworks show set to help celebrate the Fourth of July holiday.

Racing begins at 8 p.m. with $500 to win the USRA B-Mod feature.
