Shryock finds victory lane at Deer Creek Speedway

SPRING VALLEY, Minn. - On a very cool July day, the final event Saturday night at the Deer Creek Speedway was the USRA Modified feature with Kelly Shryock jumping out to the early lead.

Zack VanderBeek moved under Pat Grahm to take over second with Graham fighting back up top and retaking the spot on lap 2. Jason Cummins raced with VanderBeek for third with Tim Donlinger right behind them in fifth.

With six laps completed, Donlinger and Cummins moved into a race wtih Graham for second. Cummins took second on lap 7 while Donlinger completed the move into third on lap eight.

With 11 laps remaining, Cummins had made up the distance to Shryock and moved low to make a pass for the lead just as the caution flag flew.

On the restart, Shryock moved into the low line to keep his lead while Donlinger worked to the outside of Cummins with nine to go to take over second.

Shryock held on for the win over Donlinger and Cummins. VanderBeek came home fourth with Jason Krohn rounding out the top-5 after starting at the rear of the field.
