DECORAH, Iowa - Decorah’s Upper Iowa Speedway hosted a special Wednesday night event in front of a full-house grandstand with USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks running for track and national points in the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series.

Danny Sacquintne started pole in the USRA Hobby Stock feature and was rock solid throughout, starting out by shooting to the early lead.

Adam Cline soon put heat on the leaders and got past Sacquintne on the high side to take the lead.

Hard-charging Brandon Hare then moved into the picture, making it a three-way battle for the top spot while Steve Larson and Scott Spilde were fighting for fourth close behind.

Just past the halfway point, Cline had built a little breathing room while Sacquintne, Hare, Larson and Spilde shared a great battle for second.

It would eventually be Sacquintne taking second and Hare third, but the trophy went to Cline who claimed his second feature win of the season.

Junior Boyer used a front row starting spot to shoot to an early lead in the USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mod feature while Eric Verthein maneuvered his #16 to second.

Brian Schrage was battling Verthein at the half for second place while points leader Matt Jones, who started 10th, had worked his way to fourth.

Jones then got under Schrage for third and, just as the race was to end, a red flag was thrown for a fire in the pits.

The race was restarted with one lap to go, making for an exciting finish.

Boyer had a good start, but Jones shot past Verthein and appeared to be closing quickly on the leader but simply ran out of time as the checkered flags flew, giving the thrilling win to a very happy Boyer.
