Lebanon Midway points battle heats up

The action at the Lebanon Midway Speedway is getting as hot as the summer weather along with the point battles.

For this Friday night, July 30, the USRA B-Mods will be competing in a $500-to-win, $100-to-start feature event. Owner Clint Gann has placed it out there that 25 entries would bump the feature to pay $1,000 while the runner-up would take home $500.

Following his victory last Friday night, points leader Kris Jackson will be starting from the seventh spot as per track line-up procedures.

The battle behind Jackson in the standings is really tight. Sam McDaniel was not in action last week and fell from second to sixth. Following Jackson is Brian Myers while Jay Flinn and Wesley Briggs are both only one point behind Myers. Dayton Pursley is 20 markers behind those drivers in fifth.

McDaniel, Jerry Ellis, Dwight Brown, Mitchell Franklin and Mitch Armstrong complete the top 10 in points.

Racing action includes Late Models, Super Stocks, Midwest Mods, Pure Stocks and a special appearance by Legends Cars.

Pit and grandstand gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 7 and racing at 8. Drivers draw cutoff is set for 7:30.

Adult grandstand admission is only $12 while seniors and military are discounted. Adult pit passes are $35.

The Lebanon Midway Speedway is located 6 miles east of Lebanon, Mo., on Hwy. 32, then 1/4 mile right on B Hwy.
