Schutt strong In Lebanon Midway USRA B-Mod feature

Lebanon hard charger Brian Schutt, driving Shawn Whitman's No. 54, took charge from race leader Dayton Pursley on lap seven and never looked back in Friday's USRA B-Mod feature at the Lebanon Midway Speedway.

It was his first win of the season.

The start of the 15-lapper found last week's winner, Wesley Briggs, and Pursley bring the pack to the green.

Pursley wasted no time in taking the lead on the start as Briggs, Cole Wells and Schutt followed close behind.

Schutt shot from fourth to second on the second circuit and set his sights on Pursley who was opening up a lead.

It was a tremendous battle from lap four through seven when Schutt made a high-groove pass in turn four to take the top spot as Wells moved around Briggs and set his sights on Pursley for the position.

Once out front, Schutt never looked back to take the victory and giving his car owner a $500 birthday present with the win in the caution-free event.

A great battle for second saw Wells nip Pursley at the line with Briggs and Jay Flinn completing the top five.

For Scuhtt, a front-runner and winner in Factory Stocks, it was his first USRA B-Mod feature win.

Qualifying heats were captured by Wells and Schutt.

Action continues next Friday, Aug. 20, with USRA B-Mods headlining the action as the track points battle has the top five drivers very close. Points leader Kris Jackson was unable to start the feature.

Action will also feature Late Models, Midwest Mods, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks and Hornets with racing at 8 p.m.
