Mason City Motor Speedway making noise May 1

The month of May will fire up the right way when the Mason City Motor Speedway in Mason City, Iowa, hosts the season opener for the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series this Sunday, May 1.

Busch Light USRA Modifieds, Christie Door Company Medieval USRA Stock Cars, Rookie’s Rockin’ Sports Bar USRA B-Mods, Wrightz Auction Co. USRA Hobby Stocks and Bryant Services USRA Tuners will all be in action at the North Iowa Fairgrounds action track.

The pits open at 3 p.m. and grandstands open at 4. The pit meeting takes place at 4:30 and hot laps start at 5 with racing to follow.

Defending track champions are Josh Angst (Modifieds), Calvin Lange (Stock Cars), Brandon Maitland (B-Mods), Scott Dobel (Hobby Stocks) and John Gill (Tuners). Nathan Kilwine is the defending track champ in the Outlaw Mini-Mods which make their 2022 debut on Sunday, May 7.
