American Stock Car Shootout June 29-30 at Southern Iowa Speedway

OSKALOOSA, Iowa -- The 9th Annual American Stock Car Shootout is set for the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, IA for this coming Tuesday and Wednesday and should be the biggest one yet.

This season the format for the race has changed and will see the USRA Hobby Stocks racing for $300 to win on Tuesday night with $40 to start the main event.

The USRA Stock Car class will be racing for $1,000 to win on Tuesday night with $75 to start the feature on Tuesday.

Wednesday even will be the big payday for each class with the Hobby Stocks racing for $1,500 to win with each driver guaranteed $100 that start the main event.

The Stock Car class will pay $3,000 to win on Wednesday evening with each driver racing in the main event getting the guaranteed $300 to start the main event.

This will be one of the biggest paying races in the state this season.

The winner of the race on Wednesday evening will also be guaranteed a spot in the 1st Annual Stock Car Challenge in August that will pay $10,000 to win for the Stock Cars and $2,000 for the Hobby Stocks.

The winner of each class on Wednesday will also be in this race.

Racing action will get underway on Tuesday with hot laps slated for 6:45 and racing to follow. Wednesday the racing action will get underway at 6:45 for hot laps and racing to follow.

Also running on Wednesday evening will be the USRA modified class racing for $600 to win.

Pit gates will open each night at 4:30 with the grandstands opening at 5:30.

Pit passes will be $25 each night with the grandstand on Tuesday being $8 for adults and $3 for kids 6-12. Wednesday will be $12 for adults and $5 for kids 6-12.
