Sunoco Stock Car Shootout this week at Scotland County Speedway

MEMPHIS, Mo. -- The first ever Sunoco Stock Car Shootout at the Bentz GM Country Scotland County Speedway will be held this Tuesday and Wednesday August 10-11 in Memphis, MO. This is a special just for the Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks and will pay decent money to these two classes. Also running will be Cruisers on Tuesday night paying $200 to the winner and Hornets paying $200 on Wednesday night. The stock car and hobby stock classes this season has put on some of the best racing this season at the speedway and this race should be just as good as several drivers have called and should be on hand. The winner is guaranteed a spot in the $10,000 to win Stock Car Challenge coming up at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, IA August 23-25.

This race will be two complete shows for the Hobby Stocks and Stock Cars. Tuesday night will pay $300 to win for the Hobby Stocks and $500 for the Stock Cars. Wednesday night the racing action will continue and will pay $700 for the hobby stocks and $1000 for the stock cars. With the Southern Iowa Speedway taking the week off several of the local drivers from the Oskaloosa area should be on hand. More than forty Hobby Stocks and Stock Cars is expected for this event. Mark Elliott is the only driver that is locked into the 10,000 to win challenge after picking up the Stock Car Shootout win in Oskaloosa, IA back in June. This will be a must see show for all stock car fans as this is the class everyone enjoys watching.

Pit gates will open at 4:30 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday with the grandstand gates opening at 5pm and hot laps slated for 7pm and racing to follow. Wednesday night will be $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Pit passes will be $25 each night. We hope to see everyone Tuesday and Wednesday night. Regular racing will continue on Saturday night with Racemart night at the races and Late Models will pay $1000 to win.
