Worthington Nationals this Saturday and Sunday


WORTHINGTON, Minn. - The Nobles County Speedway is gearing up for the Worthington Nationals this Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 28-29, sponsored by Pepsi and Jaycox Implement.

A total purse of more than $30,000 is up for grabs.

USRA RHS Modifieds will race for $1,500 to win on Sunday, while USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars battle for $1,000 to win. A top prize of $700 has been posted for the main event winners in both the USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks.

Saturday night will be qualifying followed by championship night on Sunday night for all weekly classes.

Both days will award national points in the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series for licensed USRA drivers.

Pits open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 5:30 and racing at 6 p.m. both nights.

On Saturday night the Jackson Speedway Touring Series Sprint Cars will also be invading the Nobles County Speedway. Sportsmans plus the Minniakota Micro-Sprints will be on hand both Saturday and Sunday nights. Local Hornets will not be racing this weekend.
