RE/MAX USRA Modified Nationals promises family-friendly racing fun


FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. - The inaugural RE/MAX USRA Modified Nationals at the Mississippi Thunder Speedway is going to be the highlight of the 2010 season and the high-banked 3/8-mile oval.

Set for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10-11, the USRA Nationals will feature USRA RHS Modifieds racing for $1,000 to win Friday and a whopping $10,000 to win Saturday while the USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods will batle for $500 and $1,000 to win, respectively.

Whether you're a die-hard race fan or just looking for a little family fun, wrap up your 2010 summer season with two days of action, excitement and family activities.

While more than 200 cars in three classes are expected to compete, the RE/MAX USRA Modified Nationals is all bout quality - not quantity.

In addition to the USRA RHS Modifieds and USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods battling for national points in the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series each night, the program will also feature WISSOTA Midwest Mods in action.

Tickets are on sale now at NAPA Auto Parts stores in Dodge Center, Kasson, Rochester and Winona. Race fans can also pick up tickets at Bucky's Buger Barn in La Crosse, Wis., and all three Severson Sinclair locations in Winona.

Otherwise, enjoy the ease and convenience of "Will Call" ticket pick-up as you arrive at the track. Simply send a check or money order to Mississippi Thunder, 5535 Hwy. 61, Goodview, MN 55987. Make sure to include your name, number of tickets and type of tickets (adult, children, student, etc.).

Buy your tickets now before the rush and assure yourself a general seating guarantee. Officials are seriously anticipating capacity crowds.

Tony Buckland of Sunshine Sanitation in Winona has stepped on board to offer a $1,000 bonus to the driver who is leading Saturday's USRA Modified main event at the halfway pit stop on lap 25.

Additionally, Les Duellman and Ultra Shield have come on board to award a full containment seat valued at $500 to the Hard Charger in Saturday's USRA RHS Modified main event.

Mississippi Thunder Speedway is excited to announce that the Dirt Knights film crew will be on hand for the RE/MAX USRA Modified Nationals.

"I can't tell you how pleased we are about this return visit by the Dirt Knights camera crew," said track owner Bob Timm. "This is a production crew and network that receives upwards of 300,000 viewers for their programming. Exposure like that for Mississippi Thunder Speedway - not to mention dirt track racing in the Upper Midwest in general - is huge."

The Dweebs will be providing musical entertainment for the event. The Dweebs will be playing for three hours in the hospitality area following the USRA RHS Modified feature race on Friday, Sept. 10. ATTENTION DRIVERS: you must race both Friday and Saturday in order to compete for the full purse on Saturday. Any driver not participating on Friday may participate on Saturday, but will only be racing for half of the posted purse. This applies to all classes.
