Osky postponed by rain; Great American Stock Car Challenge at Cresco Thursday
The Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, was ready to host the 13th Annual MUSCO Lighting Great American Stock Car Shootout, but Mother Nature intervened with rain and caused the event to be postponed. Action is still on as planned for Thursday, July 3, at the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa, for the 5th Annual Kabrick Distributing Great American Stock Car Challenge, while the event at Oskaloosa has been postponed to next Wednesday, July 9. read more
Racing at Cresco Speedway canceled for Friday, June 6
Heavy rains throughout the past two nights has left standing water in both turns, making track preparation impossible for track workers. Furthermore, officials discovered this morning that a lightning strike sometime in the past 48 hours has disabled the track lighting and other areas needing electrical power. read more
Cresco Speedway rained-out for May 30
Races for Friday, May 30 at the Cresco Speedway have been rained out. Action at the Howard County Fairgrounds speedplant will continue next Friday, June 6 with the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Modifieds, USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars, USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Outlaw Hobbys. read more
Cresco Speedway season opener pushed back to May 16
The season opener at the Cresco Speedway has been delayed one more week due to the extremely wet conditions at the Speedway. Soggy grounds has not allowed for proper time to work on the track and we do not want to start the season out with a rough racetrack. read more

Banquet dates approaching for four RL Promotions racetracks
Banquet dates for four racetracks operated by RL Promotions in 2007 will be held In January and February of 2008. Class champions and top points finishers in the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series will be recognized, as well as several special awards being doled out to drivers, team members and sponsors. read more
RL Promotions to operate Cresco, Oskaloosa again in 2008; Torch to be passed at Bloomfield, Memphis
Officials from RL Promotions, LLC, have announced that the motorsports promotions and management company will continue to promote weekly racing and special events at both the Cresco Speedway and Southern Iowa Speedway in 2008. As part of today's announcement, however, officials also stated that RL Promotions has decided not to exercise their option to remain as promoter of the Bloomfield Speedway and the Scotland County Speedway. read more

Three days of nail-biting action is in the books, and five champions of the first-ever Cresco USRA Nationals were crowned Saturday at the Cresco (Iowa) Speedway. Taking home the hardware were Zack VanderBeek (USRA Modifieds), Tory Reicks (USRA Stock Cars), Jimmy Davis (USRA B-Mods), Chris Hovden (USRA Hobby Stocks) and Justin Elsbernd (Outlaw Hobbys). read more

Fans and drivers that braved the cold were treated to some hot on-track action Thursday night as the inaugural Cresco USRA Nationals kicked off at the Cresco Speedway. Practice night nixed, but Cresco USRA Nationals still set for this weekend
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 11-13, the Mighty Howard County Fairgrounds speedplant will be the site of the Inaugural Cresco USRA Nationals. More than 200 drivers in five classes are expected to take part in the big-money mega-blowout. USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Outlaw Hobbys will be in action all three days. A practice session scheduled for Wednesday night has been canceled. read more
Inaugural Cresco USRA Nationals set for Oct. 11-13
The 2007 racing season at the Cresco Speedway has been one of the most exciting and memorable ever at the 4/10-mile high-banked clay oval. Henceforth, officials from RL Promotions have announced plans for one final speed-fest to close out the events calendar and give both drivers and fans one last hurrah before the checkered flags are put away for the winter months. read more
