Springfield Raceway ready for action Saturday night

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Following a rainout last Saturday night, the Springfield Raceway will be back in action this Saturday night, May 5, with round 2 of the Transport Graphics Championship Chase.

Action will feature the Budweiser USRA Modifieds, Reliable Chevrolet GM Performance USRA B-Mods, Casey's General Stores Midwest Modz, Pepsi Pure Stocks, Wheeler Metals Legends and Young Lions Legends and the Williams Lawn Care Street Stocks.

Opening points night saw 90 race teams checked into the Speedway and provided outstanding racing action in all classes.

Grandstand gates will open at 5:00 with hot laps slated to begin around 6:00 and racing at 7:00. Drivers meeting will be before hot laps, around 5:40.

Grandstand adult admission is only $12 while kids ages 6-12 are $5 and under 6 are free. Pit passes are $25.

Erik Maggard of Brighton is the current USRA Modified points leader s) while Webb City's Scott Drake leads the USRA B-Mod standings.
