Mississippi Thunder Speedway putting the “affordable” into race fan planning with Family Friendly Pricing

FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. -- Mississippi Thunder Speedway owners Bob & Paula Timm and Tom & Tina Lockner are excited to announced their plans to introduce Family Friendly Pricing in order to put the word “affordable” back into the picture for those race fans who are planning their weekends to include a visit to the West-Central Wisconsin dirt track. Special pricing structures are being implemented for the 2012 racing season to help race fans at both the general admission grandstand ticket gate and at the pit gate.

“One of our main goals here at Mississippi Thunder Speedway, ever since the very first days of our ownership, has been to make this a family friendly destination,” said Bob Timm. “We are obviously huge race fans, but we also have families. We understand what the economy is like right now, and we want the race fans to know that we are keeping them in mind when we invite them to come to Mississippi Thunder Speedway to enjoy some great dirt-track racing on a Friday night.”

For regular weekly racing programs throughout the 2012 season, Mississippi Thunder Speedway is introducing the MTS Family Pass which includes two (2) adult tickets and up to three (3) youth tickets for race fans aged 17 and under for just $25; this is a savings of almost $15 to those same five tickets being purchased individually. The MTS Family Pass will be available at the general admission grandstand ticket gate for all regular season events.

Additionally, Mississippi Thunder Speedway is implementing a family friendly price structure at the pit gate.

“Not only do we want families to be able to enjoy the evening’s racing action from the grandstands but we also want those families who may be actively competing – and therefore spending the night in the pit area – to also be able to enjoy the night together,” continued Timm. “The last thing we want to do is split up a family during our sporting events which we feel are so tightly woven around the family unit.”

Family Friendly Pit Pricing for the 2012 regular season means that children 5 and under will get into the pits absolutely free (with a signed insurance waiver and parental accompaniment). Children 12 and under who are not competing will be allowed to purchase a pit pass for only $15. Competitors ages 12 and under are still required to purchase the regularly priced $25 pit pass.

“We want all families to enjoy the sport of stock car racing that we present at Mississippi Thunder Speedway regardless of how they’re involved – as a fan, as a competitor or as a member of a competitor’s family,” explained Tom Lockner. “We feel that both of these pricing structures, the MTS Family Pass and the Family Friendly Pit Pricing will allow families to stay together and enjoy the evening of racing as a family for an affordable price.”

Regular weekly racing programs for 2012 are scheduled for the following Friday nights: May 4, May 11, May 18, May 25, June 8, June 15, June 22, June 29, July 20, July 27, Aug. 10, Aug. 24 and Aug. 31.

In addition to these special family friendly pricing options, regular weekly racing programs also have the following single ticket purchase options available: Adult General Admission $12; Senior Citizens (65 and older) $10; Students (ages 13-18) $5; and all children 12 and under are absolutely free.

Mississippi Thunder Speedway’s 2012 regular weekly racing programs kick off this Friday night, May 4. On-track action will get underway at 7:00 and be comprised of River City Manufacturing USRA Modifieds, Winona Auto Sales WISSOTA Super Stocks, The Engine Store USRA B-Mods, Jailhouse Saloon WISSOTA Street Stocks, Oak Ridge Fabrication 600 Mods and M.T.S. Pure Stocks.

The Mississippi Thunder Speedway is embarking upon its fourth season of top-notch dirt track action in Fountain City, Wis. The high-banked 1/3-mile dark clay oval is quickly becoming known as one of the best speedways in the upper Midwest presenting dirt track racing in a fan and family friendly atmosphere every Friday night throughout the racing season.
