Iron Man Challenge wraps up June with four events in five nights


FORT DODGE, Iowa -- The month of June will end with a bang as four events in five nights are on tap for the Industrial Material Surplus Iron Man Challenge.

On Tuesday, June 26, the Mineral City Speedway in Fort Dodge, Iowa, will host both the USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods for the Iron Man Challenge event.

The Mineral City Speedway is a 1/2-mile semi-banked dirt oval located 0.9 mile north of US 20 on US 169, then 0.5 mile east on 230th. For a complete 2012 schedule, complete weekly payouts and more check out www.mineralcityspeedway.com online.

After a day off on Wednesday, the USRA B-Mods will take center stage for three straight nights beginning Thursday, June 28, at the Fairmont Raceway in Fairmont, Minn.

Friday, June 29, will find the series at the Highway 3 Raceway in Allison, Iowa, with the weekend wrapping up on Saturday, June 30, at the Upper Iowa Speedway in Decorah, Iowa.

Tuesday’s event at the Mineral City Speedway will pay $700 to win for USRA Stock Cars. All four events are worth $500 to the USRA B-Mod feature winner. The Iron Man Challenge will be joining the high-powered USMTS Modifieds at all four events.

There is no requirement to purchase a USRA license to compete in the Iron Man Challenge, but benefits enjoyed by licensed drivers include a piece-of-mind $100,000 insurance policy and a lucrative points fund. The cost of a USRA license is $100 for Stock Cars and $90 for B-Mods, which covers the driver for all USRA-sanctioned races during the 2012 season.
