SPRING VALLEY, Minn. -- The School of Hard Knocks will hit the high banks of the Deer Creek Speedway this Saturday night as 10 local schools battle it out for bragging rights.

The school year is coming to an end but it wouldn't be complete without the annual Johnston Autostores School Bus Races at Deer Creek Speedway. This family fun event has become one of the highest attended events on the schedule and a way for kids of all ages to enjoy an affordable night out.

Also competing on the 3/8-mile monster will be the USRA Modifieds and USRA B-Mods, plus WISSOTA Super Stocks, WISSOTA Midwest Mods and WISSOTA Street Stocks.

The weekend's event will kick off at 2 p.m. on Button Buck Speedway as the little stars and their cars will compete during night #2 of the championship point battle. The spotlight will be on the senior division as they have been called up to the big leagues and will race their feature during the evening's events.  Don't forget that the afternoon events are free in the grandstands for all ages.

The draw cut-off and the drivers meeting for those competing on Deer Creek Speedway will take place at 4:30 at the scales. RACEceivers and transponders will be required with a limited quantity available to rent. The first green flag is scheduled to fly at 5 p.m.

Schools registered to compete this year are Grand Meadow, St. Ansgar, Waseca, Kingsland, Pine Island, Chatfield, Immanuel Lutheran, LeRoy-Ostrander, Goodhue and Blooming Prairie.
