Smith pockets USRA B-Mod cash at Valley Speedway

GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. -- Heavy rains brought on several challenges for the Valley Speedway crew in week four of the 2014 season. However, the crew was up the challenge as once again they put on a terrific night of racing for the fans.

The Zarda BBQ blazing USRA B-Mods had an extra boost for the night when Day Automotive kicked in an extra $100 for the winner.

Kyle Gray, who had a great heat race, started the field and immediately was pressured by Brad Smith and Scotty Martin.

Smith took over the top spot and Martin took over second while Gray retired to the pits with a mechanical issue.

Smith and Martin jumped out to a one-two battle for the top spot while Jeremy Price and Chris Martin battled over the third spot.

Price also retired to the hot pit with a hood issue, allowing Chris Martin to take over the third spot.

After a yellow flag, the field tightened up, and on the restart Chris Martin jumped up and challenged Scotty Martin for the second spot.

Smith continued to lead, and as the laps wound down Scotty Martin opened a gap on the third-place car of Chris Martin.

On the last lap, Bill Crane made his move from the back of the field and took over the third spot while Smith took home the win followed by Scotty Martin.
